The Summit was co-hosted by regional partners Indian Auto LPG Coalition, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum.  WLPGA Regional Summits are meetings designed to examine specific regions and markets in detail as a way of introducing WLPGA members to the issues and opportunities that exist in these areas. The Summit in Delhi was the first one to examine the dynamic markets in the sub-continent and it was an excellent opportunity for participants to discover the opportunities which exist throughout the region. Discussions ranged over topics from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.   Issues covered included LP Gas subsidy regimes throughout the region, ideas on expanding Autogas, improving good industry practices and a riveting keynote presentation given by form er Infosys executive Nandan Nilekani who is currently serving as the Chairman of the new Unique Identification Authority of India, a revolutionary programme that will provide a unique identification number to all Indian based on biometric and other data.
The WLPGA would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Summit exhibiting sponsors Arcelor Mittal, Bhiwadi Cylinders, Cavagna Group, Kosan Crisplant, Ragasco, Rego Products and Siraga.
WLPGA also thanks media partners Argus Media and Energy Update.

The event also included a half day Good Industry Practices Workshop led by David Tyler, Director WLPGA.  Another successful event which attracted some 70 delegates.  The workshop studied specific challenges facing the region and allowed the delegates the opportunity to work with case studies and engage in syndicated discussions.   WLPGA runs Good Industry Practices in dedicated regions to identify the more common business practices that present a challenge to the safe and sustainable growth of the LP Gas industry, these half day events allow delegates to share common experiences and develop an agreed plan of actions to improve conditions.
The principal role of the WLPGA is to promote the use of LP Gas worldwide to help foster a cleaner, healthier and more prosperous world. Regional summits such as “LP Gas: Exceptional Energy for the Sub-Continent” are valuable vehicles for promoting the benefits of LP Gas in specific regions. The WLPGA also organizes the World LP Gas Forum which will this year take place in Bali from September 11th – 13th.
