WLPGA took part in the 27th Latin American Congress and Exhibition in Panama City

From the 14th to the 17th of March WLPGA participated in the 27th Latin American Congress and Exhibition in Panama City.

This annual event managed by the Latin American Regional Association known by its Spanish acronym AIGLP is the most important event covering a region that stretches from Mexico to Patagonia and includes the Caribbean as well as Spain and Portugal. 2012 was the 27th version of the Congress and the first time the event was held in the Central American nation of Panama. More than 300 participants gathered in Panama City from all over the region and the world to attend the conference and exhibition. Over the course of the two and a half day event, the issues discussed ranged from the importance of respect for cylinder branding to new innovations for accessing rural markets throughout Latin America. Technological developments were highlighted in the 2nd Meeting of the Latin American Global Technology Network (GLOTEC LAM) in which WLPGA Technical Director, Nikos Xydas gave a presentation on the role of LP Gas in natural disasters. WLPGA Deputy Director, Michael Kelly, gave a presentation on the uses of LP Gas around the world noting that some of the innovations taking place in other regions could easily be used in Latin American markets. When asked about the event, Mr Kelly stated "It was an excellent turn out and a wonderful opportunity to see how LP Gas markets are developing in these crucial markets. Latin America remains a model for other developing world markets to follow in terms of high rates of per capita consumption and long term, disciplined growth cycles. WLPGA intends to continue cooperating and collaborating with AIGLP in the future to monitor the evolution of this key region.                                                                                                                                             Mr Nikos Xydas (Technical Director, WLPGA)                                             Mr Michael Kelly (Director of Market Development and Deputy Managing Director)
