WLPGA & Pertamina Best Industry Practice Workshop

At the request of Pertamina the WLPGA held a Best Industry Practice Workshop at the Westin Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia on Friday 14th September 2012, immediately after the 2012 Forum.

David Tyler, Director of the WLPGA organized the one day event which focused on a number of key issues that Pertamina had specifically requested be covered. Guest speakers from Hong Kong and the Philippines assisted with the programme. Alison Abbott, WLPGA’s Director of Communications, also presented Exceptional Energy. Pak Hanung Budya, Pertamina’s Supply, Trading and Marketing vice president, opened the workshop which was attended by over 180 delegates. During the past four years the WLPGA has conducted workshops with key stakeholders in several countries where attention has been needed to discuss best practices and identify and develop opportunities for LP Gas. The objectives of these workshops has been to bring together delegates from the LP Gas industry and discuss some of the more common business practices that are presenting a challenge to the safe and sustainable growth of the local LP Gas industry, share some common experiences and develop an agreed plan of action to improve and develop the business. In November 2009 the WLPGA held a workshop with Pertamina in Yogyakarta to review the kerosene to LP Gas conversion programme and identify ways to improve it. This workshop was a follow up to that event.
The programme:

Assembled together for half a day the key representatives within the Pertamina organization involved with the LP Gas business
Reviewed best practices when distributing LP Gas through piped networks into residential and commercial outlets
Reviewed best practices when transporting LP Gas by bulk road tanker
Developed action plans and a timetable to implement a series of improvements

David also asked the delegates for feedback on any other concerns that they had with their LP Gas business and these were also covered during the day. Workshop Speakers Team on stage during the event
