WLPGA Member News – Liquid Gas Europe

Liquid Gas Europe re-branding

The European LPG Association – until now known as AEGPL – has renamed itself as Liquid Gas Europe. The change of name, logo and visual identity was announced in September in Brussels at a cocktail party that gathered its members and several representatives of the industry.

The re-branding coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Association, created in 1968. For some time, we had been aware that our name, and in particular the use of an acronym, was not working in our favour. Too often people were confused by what the letters stood for and by having a name based on the original name of the Association – in French! Our focus is to reach decision makers and to be efficient in advancing the LPG agenda in Europe and, to achieve that, we had to stand out. Our new name will make it easier for stakeholders to have a more immediate understanding of which industry the Association represents. Moreover, our new logo - colourful and dynamic – make the Association easily distinguishable and reflect the industry’s ability to re-invent itself and be a contributing member in the energy sector.

Now, in 2018, we are stronger than ever. We have over 50 members covering the entire industry supply chain. We represent a range of large, small and mid-sized companies and national associations giving the LPG industry an influential and respected voice. We are recognized as partners by the European institutions, and our membership offers companies numerous advantages. In addition, our annual Congress is the leading LPG event in Europe, attracting hundreds of exhibitors, high-level speakers and thousands of visitors.
Much has been achieved, but our journey continues, with an exciting future in front of us!
