WLPGA Attends the Purvin & Gertz Asia LP Gas Seminar in Singapore

David Tyler – Director, WLPGA, presented a paper at the annual Purvin and Gertz Asia LP Gas Seminar held in Singapore 19-20 June 2012.  The paper covered opportunities for Autogas in Asia.

Well over 100 delegates attended the event from the Asian region along with  delegates from Australia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. The seminar highlighted some of the exciting changes that are taking place now within the industry, many of them game changers. Examples such as Autogas for two wheelers, the abundance of shale gas coming on stream in North America and elsewhere, countries moving from net importers of LP Gas to net exporters, and the opening of the new Panama Canal that will cut weeks off the voyage of a VLGC heading for Asia from the US. The format of the seminar, with individual presentations, followed by panel discussions, attracted a wealth of key questions from the audience. One of the topics that created a great deal of discussion was the type of formulae expected to be used for determining the price of LP Gas in the future as the dynamics of supply shift between the Middle East, Europe, Russia and the USA.
