WLPGA Asia Autogas Summit – Sri Lanka
The WLPGA held its third Asia Autogas Summit - in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Monday 17th November 2014 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, Colombo, Sri Lanka. It coincided with the Better Air Quality event which was held later in the week.
Over 130 registered for the event - from nearly 20 countries - which was organized by The All Events Group in Singapore and kindly sponsored by Litro Gas, Laughfs Gas, SIHI pumps and CIMC.
The day was moderated by Nick Black, vice president of LPG at Argus Media, and Editor of LPG World. The keynote address was given by Glynda Bathan, Deputy Executive Director of Clean Air Asia. Glynda spoke of the deteriorating street air quality in many Asian mega cities and how clean transport fuels such as Autogas can play a role in mitigating these effects.
The morning session focused on Autogas with an international array of top speakers from Europe, Asia and Australia. Mr Kang (Korean LPG Association), R Zulfikar (Pertamina), J Batchen (Australia) and Dr R Mudalige (Sri Lanka) presented the latest thinking on Autogas developments from their respective countries.
Although Bart van Aerle, CEO of Prins Autogassystemen B.V., was unable to present in person the organisers managed to hook him up by telephone to enable him to explain the exciting technology his company is developing with direct Autogas injection and diesel/LPG bends. Nick Black chaired the panel discussion with Eric Johnson (Atlantic Consulting), Suyash Gupta (Indian LPG Coalition) and David Tyler (WLPGA) discussing how the Autogas business can be reinvigorated.
