Prins wins two prestigious awards at Automechanika

The Direct LiquiMax LPG system of the Dutch Prins Autogassystemen won not one, but two presitious awards during the Automechanika 2012, the world’s biggest auto trade faire that took place in Frankfurt Germany (11-16 Sept). The system was crowned for its innovative technique and for its sustainability. The company received the Green Directory award and the Innovation award during the opening ceremony on September 11th.

The Prins Direct LiquiMax system is especially developed for cars with direct injection engines. It is a bivalent fuel system for petrol and liquid petroleum gas. This highly complex system is innovative, makes a contribution to environmental protection and enables the driver to use cheaper fuel without suffering any restrictions on mobility. It is suitable for the aftermarket as a retro-fit product and for automobile manufacturers as original equipment. Mr Bart van Aerle, Managing Director Prins Autogassystemen is extremely pleased winning the awards. “We are of course very proud that we have won two awards for our new system. It gives the acknowledgment and the appreciation for our product and our company that both are indeed innovative and contribute in a positive way to the environment.”

Ceremony:
The awards were presented by Mr. Volker Bouffier, the Prime Minister of Hessen and Mr. Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of the Messe Frankfurt GmbH to Mr. Bart van Aerle, Mr. Bas ten Broeke and Ms. Angelique Berden of Prins Autogassystemen BV.

Green Directory award:
An independent expert, Dr Gerhard Angerer of the Fraunhofer- Institute for System and Innovation Research ISI, examined a total of 57 entries with regard to their innovativeness and sustainability. Points were awarded for the subsequent evaluation of material and energy efficiency, and the carbon footprint. This year, the highest score was achieved by Prins Autogassystemen BV with its Prins Direct LiquiMax System.

Innovation Award:
An independent jury of eight experts agreed on nine winners, which were chosen from a total of 117 entries. 59 of the products entered came from Germany and 58 from 15 other nations. The jury comprised experts from associations, the media and industry.
