Pam Indurjeeth, Managing Director, Oryx Energies South Africa, Wins WINLPG Woman of the Year Award

The Women in LPG Global Network (WINLPG) is an initiative that was launched in 2014 by the World LPG Association (WLPGA). Recognising the need to promote women, and young talent, in the LPG industry the WLPGA created WINLPG as a platform to meet, connect, exchange and learn. The network has over 2,000 members and has six active national chapters in the USA, Nigeria, South Africa, Myanmar, India and Colombia.

The prestigious Woman of the Year Award is awarded each year to the outstanding individual who has made a significant contribution to the industry, to the cause of diversity, and who has enjoyed unparalleled career success. This year’s award goes to Pam Indurjeeth, Managing Director, Oryx Oil South Africa. Pam was appointed Managing Director of Oryx Oil South Africa on 1 August 2019 and brings 20 years’ experience within the petroleum and LPG industry. Her appointment demonstrates the commitment of Oryx Oil South Africa to the South African transformation agenda, women empowerment and women in leadership in the energy sector.

Ms Indurjeeth commented

“I am overwhelmed by gratitude and joy. This award has particular significance given the magnitude of being an international platform, amongst so many successful candidates. It is wonderful to take the award back to South Africa, a motivation for other aspiring woman in what’s deemed to be a male dominated industry. I thank Oryx Energies for creating an environment that has allowed me to develop my skills at an executive level. Thank you WLPGA, my family and colleagues. A beautiful and memorable milestone to treasure for life.”

The runners up are Ms Sadhana Chadha, Chief Manager Sales, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, India; and Ms Maggie Rawling, HSSEQ Advisor North, Calor Gas, UK.

There is also a Young Woman of the Year Award to recognise women under the age of 30 who have made a contribution to the LPG industry or who demonstrate signification motivation.
The awards were made during the World LPG Forum in Amsterdam and the WINLPG team would like to warmly congratulate Pam, as well as Sadhana and Maggie, on their achievement and wish them continued success.

The World LPG Association (WLPGA) is the authoritative voice for the global LPG industry representing the full LPG value chain.
