James Rockall meets with WLPGA members in Nigeria

In June 2012, WLPGA's managing director, James Rockall, was invited to discuss LPG development strategies in Lagos with a range of  World LP members.

From June 25th – 27th, WLPGA CEO James Rockall visited Lagos in Nigeria. At the invitation of the Energy Commissioner for Lagos State, James discussed a proposed LPG development strategy for Lagos, Nigeria’s largest state. Talks covered the ambition to convert both household consumers and automotive users to LPG and focussed on the current barriers to market development and how these could be overcome. Key issues discussed were cylinder ownership and maintenance; the need to avoid cross-filling and the high import duties on equipment. James held further meetings with WLPGA members Strategic Energy; Ultimate Gas, Oando, Total and the Nigerian LPG Association as well as the Deputy Director General of the Nigerian Standards Organisation.
