Celebrating Prins 35-years: September 1986 – 12th September 2021
Thirty five years ago the company Prins was founded in Eindhoven in the Netherlands developing and supplying LPG systems. The Dutch engineer Yde Prins started ‘Prins Carburatiesystemen’ in the early 80’s but it was in 1986 that Ad Smulders took over the company and started Prins Autogassystemen B.V.. Over the years Prins had several business owners that all contributed to the success achieved today. Since 2016 Prins has been part of Westport Fuel Systems, a leading supplier of advanced fuel delivery components and systems for clean, low-carbon fuels such as natural gas, renewable natural gas, LPG (Autogas), and hydrogen to the global automotive industry.
As a brand, Prins continues to provide great value to the automotive industry worldwide. Over the years, Prins have created a cleaner environment at affordable prices through our state-of-the-art Autogas, CNG and LNG applications. Prins’ shared values of quality, innovation and customer care set Prins apart from the competition and continue to drive our mission.

Prins has undergone tremendous developments over the last 35 years. Not only h as Prins grown in R&D and Light Duty, Medium Duty
and Heavy-Duty system applications, but also in Finance, Sales, Marketing, IT, Production, Operations, Purchase, QA, After Sales Service and Logistics. It has cultivated a unique culture based on excellence not only in customers service, but also in the workplace and in the communities it operates.
