Clean

LPG is a clean burning fuel that is low carbon, emits virtually no black carbon and does not spill. It’s use improves air quality, reduces the emissions of GHGs and protects the environment. BioLPG made from renewable source or waste can further reduce emissions.

LPG Charter of Benefits Climate

Looking at its carbon footprint – the sum of its greenhouse gas emissions – LPG is one of the cleanest conventional fuels available. Originating mainly from natural gas production, LPG is also non-toxic and has no impact on soil, water and underground aquifers.

Low Emissions

As a low-carbon, low-polluting fuel, LPG is recognised by governments around the world for the contribution it can make towards improved indoor and outdoor air quality and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Switching to LPG can also generated substantial reduction in CO2 emissions

No Soot

Black carbon is emitted from incomplete combustion in diesel engines, industrial smokestacks, residential cooking fires and heating stoves among other things.

LPG emits virtually no particulates and witching to LPG can thus have an immediate impact on global warming.

No Spills

In the event of a leak, LPG does not contaminate the soil or aquifers. This is especially important when operating in environmentally sensitive areas such as farms, nature reserves or on water.

BIOLPG

A drop-in alternative

BioLPG is chemically identical to conventional LPG. It can replace conventional LPG but the two can also be blended and used by existing appliances suitable for use with LPG, without having to change or upgrade equipment or appliances.

Lower than low carbon footprint

The mission behind the development of BioLPG is to further reduce carbon emissions and the environmental impact of LPG, which already emits 35% less CO2 than coal and 12% less than oil. BioLPG fulfils that mission – it emits 73% less CO2 than conventional LPG.

Readily available

BioLPG is not an innovation for the distant future, it is already available on the European market in quantities that can service the energy needs of thousands of families and businesses. Currently, production is being increased and the market upscaled.
