LPG is widely used for many industrial applications such as space and process heating, grain drying, , cutting, welding, powering machinery, producing food, water heating, de-frosting, shrink-wrapping, powering industrial ovens, kilns or furnaces, or powering fork-lift trucks in and outside warehouses.
For example the manufacture of glass / ceramic products is complicated by a numerous chemical reactions which occur during the process. The use of a clean fuel like LPG enhances the product quality thereby reducing technical problems related to the manufacturing activity. LPG being a gaseous fuel gets easily regulated and compliments the heating process.
An aerosol formulation is a blend of an active ingredient with propellant, emulsifiers, perfumes, etc. LPG, being environment friendly, has often replaced the Ozone depleting CFC gases which were earlier used by the aerosol Industry.
Civil engineering is another domain in which LPG is widely used. Specific applications include heating bitumen, repairing and laying roads, illuminating road signs and floodlighting. Building contractors use LPG in industrial building driers and space heaters.
Blended of pure, dry "isopropane" (refrigerant designator R-290a ) and isobutane (R-600a) have negligible ozone depletion potential and very low global warming potential and can serve as a functional replacement for R-12, R-22, R-134a,and other chlorofluorocarbon or hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants in conventional stationary refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
